日本, I Love; Sites/Blogs/Jdrama

A new friend of mine had asked me the other day to email her a list of all the JDrama shows I’ve seen this year and Japanese related websites I go to.  I didn’t realize I have seen a bunch of shows in a matter of 3 months and searched through a billion sites (well not a billion but clearly a lot).  Below are my lists of sites and shows:

WEBSITES/BLOGS
http://www.ajatt.com/ (my fav site, where I got most of my motivation from)
http://hiraganatimes.com/
http://www.gaijinpot.com/
http://www.japantoday.com/
http://asiajin.com/blog/
http://tokyomango.com/
http://tynan.net/patience
(not really a Japanese blog but he has things related like learning Kanji and this article about patience and getting tutors.  He’s in Tokyo now. His blog is pretty inspirational and motivating)

J-Dramas (list is updated in separate category page)
I watch my shows off streaming sites like dramacrazy.net and mysoju.com (more so dramacrazy.net now though). Shows I’ve seen this year:

Hana Yori Dango 2
Kurosagi
Kimi wa Petto (watched in 2days)
Hana Yori Dango (watched in 2days)
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (newest show, aired Jan 2010)
Abarenbo Mama
Attention Please
Buzzer Beat (one of my favs!!)
Celeb to Binbo Taro
Nobuta wo Produce (another fav)
Sapuri (didn’t finish, haven’t seen any great streams)
Tatta Hitotsu no Koi (very sappy love drama)
Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (is airing now so its not complete and I only watched ep 1 & 2)
Stand Up! (actually tried to watch it but no good streams but it started off real funny)
Gokusen (started too but decided to go back to it later)

Anime
I’ve seen this year (not many since I’ve been watching Jdramas as of late):
Nana
Honey and Clover (1 and 2. didn’t like 2 as much)

Ask me if I watch these shows with NO subtitles and I’d be lying if I said yes.  I started watching them with subtitles since January and haven’t really stopped since I got REALLY serious with studying Japanese.  I know I’ve read on AJATT.com to NEVER watch them with subtitles but I’m kind of addicted to it. I tried to watch Sapuri with no subtitles and I kind of got bored but that was in the midst of me watching Jdramas with YamaPi in it (from NEWS, a JPOP star).  I pretty much start watching shows from seeing actors.  It started with Aya Ueto with Attention Please then somehow got to Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge because of Kamenashi from (KAT-TUN, another Jpop group).  Then from there he was in a show (Nobuto wo Produce) which has YamaPi in it and it was love at 3rd sight.  LOL took me awhile but I loved his character and decided I love the actor and found out I love the group NEWS.  Now I’m a fan forever.  I see how these things work now.  But trust me I’m not obsessed (maybe to some lol).

There are more links I go to but for now these are the sites I go to on a regular.  I never thought I’d be so into watching Jdramas but they are addictive.  At some point I will re-watch certain shows (like Nobuta wo Produce and BUZZER BEAT!!) when I know Japanese so I can experience without the jagged English translations.  I will be excited to re-watch them once I know Japanese.  I can’t wait…but I can because the language learning process….is a process.  じゃ, ね!

I found your blog while googling about Yamapi’s One in a million. I really enjoy reading your entries 🙂

And, same with you, I loved Yamapi in Nobuta wo Produce, which ended up with me being a fan of NEWS haha.

I believe that is how it goes a lot with NEWS fans. NEWS makes wonderful songs and everyone’s voice is unique which makes NEWS sound so unique. I’m glad I found them through Yamashita. Thank you for reading my entries. I’m trying to write more frequently.
